Job Overview
This Senior House Officer Psychiatry Cork Kerry position is based within CAMHS South West, delivering assessment and treatment to children and adolescents experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. The post provides structured clinical exposure, supervision, and multidisciplinary collaboration within community-based services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric assessment and treatment for children and adolescents referred to CAMHS.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including consultants, psychologists, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in clinical reviews, case conferences, and service planning meetings.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards.
- Engage in on-call duties as required.
- Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to national child protection and mental health policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
- Relevant clinical experience in psychiatry, ideally including child and adolescent mental health.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
