The Senior House Officer Psychiatry role with Wexford Waterford Mental Health Services offers an excellent opportunity to develop clinical expertise within HSE Dublin and South East. This Fixed Term Wholetime position provides structured training, supervised practice, and exposure to diverse psychiatric services across Waterford and Wexford.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality psychiatric assessment and treatment under consultant supervision
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Engage in on-call and rota commitments as required
- Contribute to service improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Support service users and families through recovery-focused care
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Current Irish Medical Council Registration (essential)
- Access to transport
- Valid IELTS or equivalent certificate (where applicable)
- Demonstrated interest in Psychiatry
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic clinical environment
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Senior House Officer (Grade 1012).
- Salary scale (effective 1 August 2025): €54,203 – €74,133 per annum
