Job Overview
The Senior Pharmaceutical Technician Louth role at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital offers an excellent opportunity to support and lead within a dynamic hospital pharmacy team. This permanent wholetime position plays a key role in delivering safe and effective medication management to both inpatients and outpatients as part of a comprehensive pharmacy service.
This post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is based within the HSE Dublin and North East region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and lead the pharmacy technician team in daily operational duties
- Ensure safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications
- Assist in the provision of pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients
- Maintain compliance with medication safety standards and hospital policies
- Support stock control, ordering, and inventory management
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification as a Pharmaceutical Technician
- Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) or eligibility to register
- Relevant hospital pharmacy experience
- Demonstrated leadership and team coordination skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
