Job Overview

The Senior Pharmaceutical Technician Louth role at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital offers an excellent opportunity to support and lead within a dynamic hospital pharmacy team. This permanent wholetime position plays a key role in delivering safe and effective medication management to both inpatients and outpatients as part of a comprehensive pharmacy service.

This post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is based within the HSE Dublin and North East region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and lead the pharmacy technician team in daily operational duties
  • Ensure safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications
  • Assist in the provision of pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients
  • Maintain compliance with medication safety standards and hospital policies
  • Support stock control, ordering, and inventory management
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification as a Pharmaceutical Technician
  • Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) or eligibility to register
  • Relevant hospital pharmacy experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and team coordination skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
