Job Overview

The Senior Sonographer Radiographer will provide advanced diagnostic ultrasound services across Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown while supporting service development, patient safety, and clinical governance standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with radiologists, consultants, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Participate in quality assurance programmes and continuous service improvement initiatives
  • Assist with mentoring, supervision, and support of junior radiography staff where required
  • Ensure imaging equipment is operated safely and maintained according to departmental procedures
  • Contribute to departmental audits, policy implementation, and professional development activities

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualification recognised for CORU registration as a Radiographer
  • Current CORU registration or eligibility for registration
  • Significant postgraduate experience in sonography and diagnostic imaging
  • Strong clinical decision-making and patient care skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced acute hospital environment
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and clinical excellence
  • Previous experience in a senior or specialist sonography role is desirable
