St John of God Community Services Liffey Services is recruiting a qualified Social Care Worker for permanent, full-time community residential roles across the Dublin South West and Meath areas. This is an opportunity to support people with intellectual disabilities to participate actively in their communities and lead meaningful, self-directed lives.
Role Overview
As a Social Care Worker, you will provide person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities living in community residential services. The role involves promoting independence, inclusion, choice and active participation while working collaboratively with individuals, families, colleagues and the wider support network.
This vacancy is being advertised as an open competition and applications are welcome from both HSE and non-HSE applicants. The employer is St John of God Community Services company limited by Guarantee, a publicly funded Section 38 organisation, and the position is not a direct HSE employment contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in community residential settings.

- Support the delivery of safe, respectful and responsive services that reflect each individual’s needs and preferences.
Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must meet the qualification and eligibility requirements applicable to the Social Care Worker (With Qualification), grade code 3029, position. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to person-centred practice, community inclusion and supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve greater independence and quality of life.

Salary
€41,260 – €56,717 per annum (HSE Social Care Worker with Qualification scale, 11-point standard scale, plus LSI where applicable). A Long Service Increment of €57,789 applies where the relevant eligibility conditions are met. These figures are based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
This vacancy is with a Section 38 employer. The advertised salary information is aligned with the applicable public health sector pay scale for grade code 3029.

The role is based within community residential services across the Dublin South West and Meath areas. Successful candidates will support individuals in community-based environments, helping them build connections, access local opportunities and participate actively in the places where they live.
