St. Michael’s House is seeking dedicated Social Care Workers for its residential service in Kilbarrack, North Dublin. Job Overview

St. Michael’s House provides a comprehensive range of disability services across 170 locations throughout the greater Dublin area. The organisation supports nearly 2,000 individuals and their families through residential services, clinical supports, respite care, vocational training, schools, and day services.

This Social Care Worker role in Kilbarrack offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting residents to achieve independence, social inclusion, and personal development within a safe and supportive residential setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism
  • Support residents in developing independence and life skills
  • Implement positive behaviour support plans effectively
  • Work collaboratively with families, multidisciplinary teams, and management
  • Promote community participation and social inclusion
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with organisational standards
  • Participate in key working responsibilities and individual support planning
  • Assist with daily living activities while maintaining dignity and respect for service users

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) – Open Training College, or equivalent recognised qualification
  • Level 7 qualification in Social Care/Studies approved by CORU for registration
  • CORU registration or currently in the process of registration
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism
  • Experience working within a team-based care environment
  • Experience implementing positive behaviour support plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full clean driver’s licence and willingness to drive as part of the role
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: €40,351 – €56,650 per annum based on the August 2025 HSE revised consolidated Social Care Worker pay scale and a 39-hour working week.

Successful candidates without previous public sector experience will commence on point 1 of the salary scale.
