Social Care Worker – New Ross | Cumas

Cumas New Ross is seeking dedicated Social Care Workers to join our residential disability support team. This permanent full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives while providing high-quality, person-centered care in the New Ross area.

About the Role

As a Social Care Worker, you will report to the Person in Charge and provide day-to-day personal care and support for residents in our disability service. Your role focuses on ensuring each resident enjoys a meaningful, inclusive life with supports tailored to their individual requirements, choices, and preferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct personal care and daily living support to residents
  • Develop and implement person-centered support plans based on individual needs
  • Facilitate meaningful activities and community integration opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care delivery
  • Promote residents’ independence, dignity, and quality of life
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Level 7 qualification in Social Care, Disability Studies, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years experience in residential disability services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of person-centered care principles
  • Garda vetting clearance (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities
  • Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations
  • Training in safeguarding and protection procedures
  • Additional certifications in specialized care areas
