Cumas New Ross is seeking dedicated Social Care Workers to join our residential disability support team. This permanent full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives while providing high-quality, person-centered care in the New Ross area.
About the Role
As a Social Care Worker, you will report to the Person in Charge and provide day-to-day personal care and support for residents in our disability service. Your role focuses on ensuring each resident enjoys a meaningful, inclusive life with supports tailored to their individual requirements, choices, and preferences.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care and daily living support to residents
- Develop and implement person-centered support plans based on individual needs
- Facilitate meaningful activities and community integration opportunities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care delivery
- Promote residents’ independence, dignity, and quality of life
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Level 7 qualification in Social Care, Disability Studies, or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in residential disability services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of person-centered care principles
- Garda vetting clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities
- Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations
- Training in safeguarding and protection procedures
- Additional certifications in specialized care areas
