We are currently seeking motivated and compassionate Relief Social Care Workers to join our residential services team in Westmeath. About the Role
As a Relief Social Care Worker with Muiriosa Foundation, you will support individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve their vision for a ‘good life’ within our residential services. This relief position offers flexible scheduling across day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts, providing variety and work-life balance for dedicated social care professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in residential settings
- Assist residents with daily living activities and personal care needs
- Implement individual support plans and contribute to care planning processes
- Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes
- Support residents’ community participation and social inclusion activities
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and challenging situations
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Relevant recognised Level 7 Diploma in Social Care / Applied Social Studies in Social Care
- Current registration with CORU (Social Care Workers Registration Board) or in process of registering
- Ability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and overnight duties
- Willingness to work independently in residents’ homes
- Flexibility to work across multiple locations as service priorities change
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Knowledge of person-centred planning approaches
- Understanding of relevant legislation and best practice guidelines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driving licence and access to own transport
