Role Overview
Cork University Maternity Hospital is the largest dedicated maternity hospital in Ireland and a national centre for high-risk obstetric and neonatal care, affiliated with University College Cork. This post is suitable for recently qualified midwives who have completed their undergraduate midwifery programme and are awaiting formal registration with CORU/An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann. The successful candidate will work within the multidisciplinary maternity team, gaining supervised clinical experience while their registration is being processed.

- Provide evidence-based midwifery care to women and their families throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods, under appropriate supervision pending registration.

Requirements

Salary
€33,370 per annum (HSE Staff Midwife (Awaiting Registration) scale, Grade 2633, single-point scale, based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026). This is a transitional grade; upon successful registration, the post holder would move to the substantive Staff Midwife / Registered Midwife scale.
