Job Overview
This Staff Nurse Endoscopy Portlaoise role offers an excellent opportunity to join the Endoscopy Unit at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality pre, peri, and post-procedure nursing care while supporting patient management under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager.
You will play a vital role in maintaining safe, effective, and patient-centred care in line with national policies and HSE clinical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre, peri, and post-procedure nursing care within the Endoscopy Unit
- Participate in the management of patient care and clinical documentation
- Share responsibility for nursing care and the patient environment with the nursing team
- Work under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager
- Ensure adherence to national policies, protocols, and approved guidelines
- Maintain high standards of professional and ethical practice
- Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Contribute to clinical teaching and the development of nursing expertise
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Demonstrated interest or experience in Endoscopy nursing (desirable)
- Strong clinical decision-making and patient assessment skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of care and professional development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
