Bantry General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse General to join its multidisciplinary team in West Cork. This permanent wholetime opportunity offers the chance to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive HSE South West environment.
As a Staff Nurse General in Bantry, you will play a vital role in promoting safe clinical practice and ensuring excellent standards of nursing care across hospital services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in accordance with professional standards and HSE policies.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control standards.
- Support patient advocacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Demonstrated clinical competence in acute hospital settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the HSE consolidated pay scale for Staff Nurse – General (Grade Code 2135) under the Nursing & Midwifery category, effective 1 August 2025 .
