Staff Nurse Mental Health Dublin South HSE

The Health Service Executive is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse – Mental Health for permanent whole-time positions across Dublin South, Kildare West Wicklow, Dublin South Central, St James Mental Health Services and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

This is an excellent opportunity to join HSE Dublin and Midlands, delivering high-quality mental health services across Adult, Older Adult and Psychiatry of Later Life settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional mental health nursing care across inpatient, continuing care and rehabilitation settings.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care programmes.
  • Support service users experiencing complex mental health disorders and dysfunctions.
  • Manage challenging behaviours and ensure appropriate risk and security protocols are followed.
  • Deliver care in cases involving deliberate self-harm and crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with HSE clinical governance standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered as a Psychiatric Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) with NMBI.
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge across a broad range of mental health disorders.
  • Experience in Adult, Older Adult, Psychiatry of Later Life Services or CAMHS desirable.
  • Strong clinical assessment and risk management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple service settings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
