Job Overview
The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting Staff Nurses – Mental Health for services across the North-West Region. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, person-centred mental health care within multidisciplinary teams, supporting recovery-focused practice across inpatient and community settings.
A panel may be formed from which current and future permanent and specified purpose posts, both whole-time and part-time, may be filled.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver safe, evidence-based mental health nursing care
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary mental health teams
• Promote recovery-oriented and person-centred practice
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
• Advocate for service users’ rights, dignity, and wellbeing
• Participate in continuous professional development and clinical supervision
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Mental Health Nurse with NMBI (or eligibility to register)
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in mental health nursing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Commitment to professional standards, ethics, and continuous learning
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (Staff Nurse – Mental Health), effective 1 August 2025
• Incremental pay progression and long service increments apply
• Pension scheme, annual leave, sick leave, and paid training in line with public service terms
• Working hours vary depending on service requirements (shift patterns may apply)
