About the Role
As a Store Assistant with Aldi in Sligo, you’ll be at the heart of our fast-paced retail operation, delivering outstanding customer service while supporting all aspects of store operations. Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by attending to customer needs promptly and professionally
- Operate point-of-sale systems efficiently during busy periods and maintain minimal customer waiting times
- Receive and check off deliveries, ensuring accurate stock levels and proper storage procedures
- Maintain fully stocked shelves and attractive product displays throughout the store
- Support general store operations including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining store presentation standards
- Work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team to achieve daily sales targets and operational goals
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain till security protocols
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- No previous retail experience required – full training provided
- Strong numerical skills and comfortable handling cash transactions
- Excellent communication skills and friendly, professional demeanor
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move stock items throughout shifts
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, weekends, and occasional evenings
- Positive attitude with ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience in any industry
- Basic understanding of retail operations or stock management
- Ability to work additional hours when required for busy periods
