We are seeking motivated and compassionate relief support workers to join our residential services team in Westmeath, providing person-centered care that makes a real difference.
About the Role
As a Support Worker with Muirosa Foundation, you will lead meaningful initiatives that help individuals with intellectual disabilities live the life they choose. This relief position focuses on fostering community connections, creating opportunities for new experiences, and supporting the development of authentic relationships that enhance quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in residential settings
- Facilitate community integration and help residents build meaningful local connections
- Support individuals in making choices about their daily lives and future goals
- Assist with personal care, daily living skills, and independent living development
- Create and implement engaging activities that promote social inclusion and personal growth
- Maintain accurate documentation and care plans in accordance with regulatory standards
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- QQI Level 5 qualification in a relevant field (Healthcare, Social Care, or Disability Studies)
- OR willingness to undertake QQI Level 5 training upon appointment
- Flexibility to work various shift patterns including days, evenings, weekends, and overnight duties
- Ability to work independently across multiple residential locations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to person-centered care principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in disability services or healthcare settings
- Knowledge of intellectual disability support best practices
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transport
- Additional training in areas such as behavior support or autism awareness
