Job Overview
The successful candidate will join the Pathology Laboratory team at Regional Hospital Mullingar on a specified purpose whole-time contract. The role involves supporting laboratory operations within the Haematology department while ensuring compliance with clinical governance, quality standards, and HSE laboratory procedures.
A panel may also be formed from this campaign for future specified purpose vacancies of full-time or part-time duration.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Haematology laboratory testing and analysis to professional standards
- Support the delivery of accurate and timely diagnostic laboratory services
- Maintain laboratory quality assurance and quality control procedures
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Assist in ensuring compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and accreditation standards
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical and laboratory teams
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and reporting systems
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Eligible for appointment as a Medical Scientist under HSE requirements
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of post qualification experience in Haematology
