Theatre Operative Letterkenny Hospital

Letterkenny University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Theatre Operative to join its Patient and Client Care team on a permanent wholetime basis. This Theatre Operative Letterkenny opportunity offers a stable public sector role within a busy acute hospital setting, supporting surgical services and ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and turnover of operating theatres before and after surgical procedures.
  • Support clinical staff by ensuring equipment and supplies are available and appropriately maintained.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, infection prevention and control within theatre areas.
  • Safely handle, transport and store surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Assist with patient transfers within the theatre complex as required.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures and health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Contribute to effective teamwork within the multidisciplinary theatre environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a healthcare or theatre support environment is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of hygiene and infection control practices.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of patient-focused care.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

  • Grade: Theatre Operative (6013) – HSE salary scale applies.
  • Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime.
  • Salary in line with the August 2025 HSE Consolidated Pay Scales (Patient & Client Care category).
