Dental Care Ireland, award-winning dental practice group and “Great Place to Work” 2024 winner, is seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist to join our modern Sligo practice (formerly Pearse Dental). This is a full-time permanent position offering €14-€16 per hour with excellent benefits and career development opportunities.
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Dental Receptionist to provide exceptional patient care and administrative support in our busy Sligo practice. You’ll work alongside experienced dental professionals in a friendly, supportive environment while managing specialized dental administration tasks including claims processing and practice management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients daily at the reception desk, providing excellent customer service
- Manage phone and email communications throughout the day with professionalism
- Administer payor claims for GMS/PRSI/VHI/DeCare ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Support clinicians by processing prescriptions, referral letters, and x-ray requests
- Manage appointment scheduling to maximize practice efficiency and patient satisfaction
- Complete daily cashing up exercises and payment reconciliation tasks
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports using Exact dental practice management software
- Maintain various spreadsheets for accounting purposes including cash sheets and trackers
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- 1-2 years of dental receptionist experience in Irish healthcare setting
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Fluent written and oral English communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and internet applications
- Authorization to work in Ireland
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with dental practice management software (Exact preferred)
- Knowledge of Irish dental payment systems (GMS/PRSI/VHI/DeCare)
- Previous healthcare administration experience
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
