About the Role
Join St. Lukes General Hospital as a Pharmaceutical Technician (Grade 3212) in our busy hospital pharmacy department. You’ll work alongside experienced pharmacy professionals, supporting medication management and pharmaceutical care across all hospital departments. Key Responsibilities
- Manage medication supply systems ensuring accurate dispensing and distribution across hospital departments
- Support pharmaceutical care activities including medication reconciliation and clinical pharmacy services
- Maintain comprehensive inventory control of medications, medical devices, and pharmaceutical products
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements for medication safety
- Assist with clinical pharmacy services supporting ward-based pharmaceutical care initiatives
- Operate pharmacy information systems for prescription processing and inventory management
- Provide technical support to pharmacy staff and healthcare teams throughout the hospital
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Qualification in Pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent recognized by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland
- Minimum 2 years experience in hospital or community pharmacy settings
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation and medication safety protocols
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and computerized dispensing processes
- Excellent attention to detail with proven accuracy in medication handling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hospital pharmacy environment with acute care services
- Knowledge of clinical pharmacy practices and medication therapy management
- Additional pharmaceutical qualifications or specialized training programs
- Experience with inventory management systems and pharmaceutical procurement
