Team Leader – Children’s Respite Service – Sligo | RehabCare

We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader for our Children’s Respite Service in Sligo Town to deliver exceptional person-centered care to children with intellectual disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and complex health needs.

About the Role

Join our specialist children’s respite team as Team Leader, supporting the Respite Services Manager in delivering quality, person-centered care services. This permanent 30-hour position involves managing day-to-day operations of our HIQA-registered children’s respite service, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining the highest quality of care for children and families in Sligo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily delivery of person-centered respite services for children with intellectual disabilities, autism, and complex health needs
  • Lead and supervise multidisciplinary care teams across day, evening, and sleep-in shifts
  • Develop, implement and review individualized support and care plans in collaboration with families and healthcare professionals
  • Ensure full compliance with HIQA regulations and RehabCare standards within the children’s respite service
  • Coordinate staff rotas, training programs, supervision and communication across various shift patterns
  • Maintain exceptional health, safety and hygiene standards in line with regulatory requirements
  • Document service delivery information and complete required reporting for HIQA compliance

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • NFQ Level 7 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience in disability services, preferably children’s respite care
  • Proven experience in care plan facilitation, implementation and review
  • Team management and supervision experience in healthcare/social care settings
  • Experience working within HIQA registered services and regulatory compliance
  • Full, clean driving license and flexibility for travel to training programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialized training in autism spectrum disorders or intellectual disability support
  • Experience with complex health needs management in pediatric populations
  • Leadership qualification or management development training
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning methodologies
