About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 2 specializing in Virtual Ward operations to lead our groundbreaking remote patient care service at St Lukes General Hospital, Kilkenny. This permanent wholetime position offers the opportunity to revolutionize healthcare delivery by managing hospital-level care in patients’ homes using cutting-edge digital monitoring technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Virtual Ward operations ensuring seamless delivery of hospital-level care to patients in their home environment
  • Manage remote patient monitoring systems including digital devices, smartphones, and healthcare technology platforms
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary healthcare teams providing virtual care services across the HSE Dublin and South East region
  • Develop and implement virtual care protocols ensuring patient safety and clinical excellence in remote healthcare delivery
  • Monitor patient outcomes and satisfaction in Virtual Ward programs, maintaining high standards of care quality
  • Collaborate with hospital teams to facilitate faster patient discharge and prevent unnecessary hospital admissions
  • Provide clinical leadership in digital health innovation and virtual care best practices

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse with current NMBI registration
  • Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience with at least 2 years in supervisory or management role
  • Post-registration qualification in nursing management or related healthcare discipline
  • Experience with digital health technologies and remote patient monitoring systems preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills for managing virtual healthcare teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialist experience in Virtual Ward or remote patient care delivery
  • Knowledge of HSE policies and healthcare technology implementations
  • Training in digital health platforms and remote monitoring devices
  • Experience in quality improvement and clinical governance in virtual care settings
