About the Role
As a Housekeeping Assistant in Domestic Services, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control across University Hospital Kerry. This position is essential to supporting patient care and ensuring a safe, welcoming hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in patient, clinical, and public areas.
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks in line with hospital infection prevention policies.
- Safely handle cleaning equipment, materials, and chemicals.
- Report any hazards, maintenance issues, or risks promptly.
- Work as part of the domestic services team to deliver high-quality support.
- Comply with HSE health and safety, confidentiality, and operational guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Ability to carry out physically demanding cleaning duties.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of hygiene and infection control practices.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare, or similar large-scale cleaning environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
