The HSE Dublin South East is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Director of Nursing (Band 1) within the Digital Health Division. This internal opportunity is open exclusively to eligible employees within the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, and statutory health agencies under WRC Agreement 161867.
About the Role
This is a leadership role within the Digital Health and Nursing Directorate, supporting digital transformation across healthcare services. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of digital initiatives that enhance patient care and streamline nursing operations across the Dublin South East region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate digital transformation projects within nursing and midwifery services.
- Provide strategic leadership to ensure digital initiatives align with HSE policy and clinical governance.
- Support the integration of electronic health records and other digital platforms into nursing workflows.
- Collaborate with IT, clinical, and administrative teams to promote best practice in digital health.
- Monitor performance metrics and evaluate outcomes of digital health initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and patient safety.
- Represent the nursing profession in multidisciplinary digital health forums.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse (RGN/RPN/RMN/RNID) with NMBI registration.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in nursing management.
- Proven experience implementing or managing digital health or clinical information systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification in Health Informatics, Management, or Digital Health.
- Experience with national digital health frameworks or electronic patient record implementation.

- Salary Scale (1 August 2025): €71,408 – €88,123 per annum (per HSE Consolidated Pay Scales, Grade 2910).
