The Muirosa Foundation, a leading Section 38 organisation within the HSE Dublin and Midlands Health Region, is seeking Support Workers to join their Residential Disability Services in County Westmeath. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact by empowering people with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives within their local communities.

About the Role

As a Support Worker within the Disability Services, you’ll play a key role in enabling individuals to live a life of their choosing — supporting community inclusion, meaningful relationships, and personal development. The role involves day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts (including “sleep-over” duties) across residential settings in Westmeath.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to live independently and make self-directed choices.
  • Foster inclusion and community participation in local activities.
  • Promote and maintain positive relationships built on dignity and respect.
  • Encourage personal growth through new experiences and skill development.
  • Assist with daily living activities and health-related routines.
  • Work independently and collaboratively across various residential locations.
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to safeguarding and care standards.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • QQI/FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support or Health Service Skills.
  • Flexibility to work a mix of day, night, and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to work alone and across different residential sites when required.

Preferred

  • Experience working in residential or community disability services.
  • Full clean driver’s licence.
  • Understanding of person-centred planning and positive behavioural support.
