Grade IV ICT Engineer – Information & Communications Technology – Limerick | HSE Dublin Mid Leinster

The Health Service Executive (HSE) Dublin Mid Leinster is inviting applications for the position of Grade IV ICT Engineer at University Hospital Limerick. About the Role

As a Grade IV ICT Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting, maintaining, and improving the HSE’s Information and Communications Technology systems. Based in University Hospital Limerick, this position involves ensuring reliable and secure ICT services that enable efficient healthcare delivery across the Dublin and Midlands Health Region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ICT technical support and maintenance for hardware, software, and networks.
  • Assist in implementing HSE digital projects, upgrades, and system integrations.
  • Monitor ICT systems for security, reliability, and performance issues.
  • Support end users and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align ICT systems with operational goals.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and data protection compliance.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in ICT support or infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, Windows environments, and system administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience within the healthcare or public sector ICT environment.
  • Knowledge of HSE ICT policies, data protection, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and virtualisation technologies.
