Join University Hospital Waterford (UHW), part of the HSE Dublin and South East health region, as a Radiographer, Advanced Practice, Candidate (Grade 3086). This is an exciting opportunity for radiography professionals to progress toward Advanced Practice accreditation within a leading Irish teaching hospital.

About the Role

As an Advanced Practice Radiographer Candidate, you will undertake a structured candidacy programme leading to full Advanced Practice recognition within three years. The role involves advanced diagnostic imaging responsibilities, participation in service development, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care in accordance with HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced imaging examinations in line with scope of practice and departmental protocols.
  • Participate in mentorship and supervision as part of the advanced practice candidacy framework.
  • Support service innovation and continuous improvement in radiology workflows.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate imaging records and ensure adherence to radiation safety regulations.
  • Contribute to audit, research, and education initiatives within the radiography department.
  • Uphold HSE values and promote professional excellence in clinical practice.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Hold a BSc (Hons) in Radiography or equivalent qualification recognized by CORU.
  • Be registered, or eligible for registration, on the Radiographers Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by CORU.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience in diagnostic radiography.
  • Meet the eligibility criteria for entry to the Advanced Practice Candidacy Programme.

Preferred

  • Experience in specialist areas such as MRI, CT, Interventional Radiology, or Nuclear Medicine.
  • Evidence of participation in quality improvement, audit, or research activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
