Community Healthcare Sligo Leitrim (HSE) delivers Primary Care, Social Care, Mental Health, and Health & Wellbeing services across local communities. We’re building a panel of Multi Task Attendants (MTAs) to support person-centred care across facilities in Sligo–Leitrim on a permanent and temporary basis.
About the Role – patient & client care support
As a Multi Task Attendant, you’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality caring, cleaning and catering support that keeps services safe, dignified, and person-centred across community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred assistance to residents/service users under direction of nursing/designated staff.
- Maintain clean, safe environments in line with infection prevention and control standards.
- Provide catering support: food prep/plating, allergen awareness, HACCP compliance, kitchen hygiene.
- Support portering/household tasks: laundry, waste segregation, stock control, room setup.
- Safely use equipment (e.g., trolleys, floor machines) and report faults or hazards promptly.
- Follow care plans, record basic information, and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Contribute to a respectful, inclusive culture aligned to HSE policies and Sláintecare goals.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Experience in a care, cleaning, and/or catering environment (health or social care preferred).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Infection Prevention & Control awareness and safe manual handling.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland and ability to meet HSE vetting/occupational health requirements.
Preferred
- HACCP/food safety training and allergen knowledge.
- QQI/FETAC modules in Healthcare Support or equivalent.
- Experience in residential, community, or acute healthcare settings.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and across locations in Sligo–Leitrim.
