About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and integrations using Snowflake, Airflow, and Azure. You’ll collaborate closely with Data Architects, Analysts, and Stewards to deliver innovative data solutions that enable business insights and health impact.

This hybrid role allows you to split time between our Letterkenny or Dublin office and telecommuting from home, offering flexibility while contributing to our mission of advancing health equity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Integrate and consolidate data from multiple on-prem and cloud systems.
  • Develop and automate data transformation and ingestion pipelines.
  • Implement data masking and de-identification in line with security standards.
  • Monitor data systems, ensuring integrity and reliability through proactive issue resolution.
  • Utilize data quality tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Soda) to validate data accuracy.
  • Create and optimize SQL stored procedures and manage CI/CD pipelines with Git and Git Actions.
  • Design logical and physical data models for high-quality, scalable data solutions.
  • Apply performance tuning for data processes and workflows.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a hands-on Data Engineer.
  • Advanced SQL skills including window functions.
  • Strong knowledge of Python and Snowflake architecture.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Git and Git Actions.
  • Familiarity with data modeling (Star Schema, Dimensional, Data Vault).
  • Experience in ETL/ELT pipeline development and data warehousing.
  • Understanding of access control, data masking, and DevOps principles.
  • Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience orchestrating data workflows in Airflow on Kubernetes.
  • Skilled in Docker, Azure Data Factory, and Key Vault.
  • Ability to design and optimize large-scale, high-volume data pipelines.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong ownership and initiative.
