Atlantic Care Ireland is expanding its compassionate care team across County Sligo. We’re looking for dedicated Care Assistants to deliver person-centred support within the community and home environments. This role is ideal for someone passionate about empowering others to live independently while ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect at every step.
About the Role
As a Care Assistant, you’ll provide essential personal care, companionship, and emotional support to our clients in Sligo. Your work will focus on promoting independence, well-being, and dignity for people receiving care in their own homes. You’ll work under the supervision of our Care Managers as part of a supportive, professional care network.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personal and practical care to clients, including hygiene, mobility, and medication support.
- Offer companionship, reassurance, and emotional support.
- Promote independence and quality of life through compassionate daily assistance.
- Follow individual care plans developed in partnership with care managers.
- Maintain accurate records of visits, activities, and client updates.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Uphold confidentiality, dignity, and respect in all interactions.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (or working toward completion).
- A valid work permit/visa (if applicable).
- Full driver’s licence and access to a car (mileage paid).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Genuine empathy, reliability, and a caring nature.
Preferred
- Prior experience in home care, dementia care, or palliative support.
- Up-to-date patient moving and handling and first aid training.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including weekends or holidays.
