About the Role
The HSE Dublin and South East region is inviting applications for a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (Postnatal Hub) at University Hospital Waterford (UHW). This senior physiotherapy post plays a pivotal role in the development and delivery of specialist postnatal services, supporting the ongoing care of women’s health and rehabilitation following childbirth.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will lead service delivery, innovation, and evidence-based practice in physiotherapy, with a strong focus on maternal and postnatal recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist assessment and intervention for postnatal patients.
- Lead and develop clinical pathways within the Postnatal Hub at UHW.
- Collaborate closely with obstetrics, midwifery, and general physiotherapy teams.
- Supervise, mentor, and support physiotherapy colleagues and students.
- Contribute to service audits, research, and clinical governance activities.
- Implement national HSE strategies for postnatal care and women’s health.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Recognised Physiotherapy qualification with CORU registration.
- Minimum 6 years’ post-qualification experience, including substantial time in women’s health or postnatal physiotherapy.
- Proven ability to lead specialist clinical services and deliver training.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification in Women’s Health, Pelvic Health, or related field.
- Experience working in acute or tertiary maternity care settings.
- Involvement in clinical audit, quality improvement, or service innovation.
