The HSE Dublin and Midlands Region is now seeking a Social Care Leader (Grade Code 3030) to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT 8) based at The Phoenix Centre, Mount Carmel, Dublin Road, Longford. This is a permanent part-time (0.5 WTE) position offering a vital opportunity to contribute to high-quality, person-centred disability services for children and families.


About the Role

As a Social Care Leader within the Children’s Disability Network, you will take a lead role in coordinating care for children with complex needs, ensuring effective service delivery in line with HSE policies and standards. The role involves managing and supporting staff teams, promoting best practice, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals.

This position requires a strong understanding of person-centred practice, safeguarding, and child development, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of social care staff delivering supports within the CDNT.
  • Develop, implement, and review care plans that meet individual child and family needs.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE quality standards, safeguarding, and HIQA regulations.
  • Promote best practice in disability support and inclusive community participation.
  • Maintain effective communication with multidisciplinary colleagues and families.
  • Support service improvements through reflective practice and evidence-based approaches.
  • Manage resources effectively and contribute to service planning and reporting.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • A recognised qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a health or social care setting.
  • Knowledge of HSE policies, disability frameworks, and safeguarding legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children and young people with disabilities.
  • Training in Positive Behaviour Support, Person-Centred Planning, or Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Familiarity with Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs) operations.
