About the Role

The Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) invites applications for Senior Speech and Language Therapist positions within the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) Waterford.
These are permanent full-time and part-time opportunities to join a forward-thinking organisation providing interdisciplinary intervention for children aged 0–18 years with complex developmental needs.

As part of CRC’s transformation journey, in partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute, the successful candidate will work in a service committed to continuous improvement and family-centred practice, aligned with the national Progressing Disability Services model.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy to children with complex physical, sensory, and communication needs.
  • Conduct assessment and management of dysphagia in accordance with best practice.
  • Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Support and empower families and caregivers through education, training, and guidance.
  • Participate in service development, clinical audits, and research activities.
  • Lead and coordinate therapy clinics in partnership with other senior clinicians.
  • Contribute to the CRC’s lean healthcare and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised IASLT-accredited qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • CORU registration (current and active).
  • Minimum three years post-qualification experience, including work with clients presenting with physical and sensory disabilities.
  • Demonstrated competence in dysphagia assessment and management.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
  • Full driver’s licence and access to a car (or willingness to obtain, as discussed at interview).

Desirable

  • Experience in service delivery planning and development.
  • Clinical experience with excessive drooling management.
  • Prior involvement in training, supervision, research, or audit.
  • Experience leading consultative clinics with other senior therapists.
  • Interest in further developing clinical expertise in drooling and complex feeding management.
