About the Role
The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – Clare Region are seeking a committed and compassionate Social Care Worker to join our team in Miltown Malbay, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live meaningful and self-directed lives. This is a permanent, full-time position within a dynamic organisation known for delivering inclusive and person-centred services throughout the HSE Mid West region.
As a Social Care Worker, you will play a central role in empowering individuals to achieve their goals, participate in their communities, and enhance their independence and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality personal and social care supports to service users across residential and community settings.
- Promote each individual’s independence, dignity, and rights in accordance with the organisation’s person-centred ethos.
- Support service users in developing life skills, community participation, and self-advocacy.
- Implement individualised care and support plans, ensuring compliance with HIQA and HSE Mid West quality standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, daily logs, and documentation in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the planning and facilitation of recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures, safeguarding protocols, and confidentiality obligations.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- A recognised Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care (or equivalent as approved by CORU).
- Proven experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or additional complex needs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- A strong understanding of person-centred planning and rights-based approaches.
- Flexibility to work across a roster that may include evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
Desirable
- Full clean driver’s licence and access to transport.
- Knowledge of HIQA standards, positive behaviour support, and safeguarding practices.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and community inclusion programmes.
What We Offer
- Competitive public sector-aligned salary based on the HSE Consolidated Pay Scales (1 August 2025) for Social Care Worker (Grade Code 3029), currently ranging from approximately €36,487 – €52,778 per annum, with Long Service Increments (LSIs) as applicable under Department of Health Circular 6/2025.
