The HSE Dublin and South East region is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2) to lead nursing care in the Ophthalmology Outpatient Department at University Hospital Waterford (UHW). This is a permanent, whole-time position offering a key leadership opportunity within Ireland’s public healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily operations in the Ophthalmology Outpatient Department.
- Ensure the highest standards of patient care and clinical governance.
- Manage, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary nursing team.
- Oversee rostering, resource allocation, and adherence to HSE policies.
- Liaise with consultants and allied health professionals for service efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement in ophthalmic nursing practice and patient safety.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMBI registration.
- Minimum of five years post-registration experience, with at least two in ophthalmology or acute hospital settings.
- Proven leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of HSE standards, infection control, and clinical audit procedures.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and quality care.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade Code: 2119 – Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (General)
- Salary Scale (effective 1 August 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (11-point scale, LSI inclusive)
