Tipperary University Hospital is seeking a Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Heart Failure) to join the HSE Dublin and South East region. This is a permanent wholetime position offering a structured pathway to full ANP registration in Heart Failure Nursing. The role contributes to advanced patient management and service development within the hospital’s cardiology department.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced clinical nursing care to heart failure patients.
- Manage caseloads autonomously under consultant supervision.
- Implement evidence-based practice and contribute to clinical audits.
- Prescribe medicinal products and ionising radiation as per certification.
- Support patient education, discharge planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Participate in continuous professional development and service innovation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered general nurse with post-registration experience in Heart Failure Nursing.
- Must be (or agree to become) a registered nurse prescriber for both medicinal products and ionising radiation.
- Evidence of postgraduate education relevant to advanced practice.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Eligibility for registration as a Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner (General) Grade Code 2272.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary Scale (1 August 2025): €70,725 – €79,872 per annum (HSE Consolidated Salary Scales 2025, Grade 2272).
- Contract Type: Permanent, wholetime.
- Benefits: Public sector pension, paid leave, continuing education supports, and career progression through the ANP pathway.
- Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday with clinical flexibility).
