Staff Nurse (Disability Services) – Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – Athenry, Co. Galway

The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is seeking a Staff Nurse (Disability Services) to join its Athenry-based team in Co. Galway. This permanent full-time position (75 hours per fortnight) offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities within a compassionate and professional environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred nursing care in line with organisational and HSE standards.
  • Support service users in achieving health and wellbeing goals.
  • Administer medication and manage clinical documentation accurately.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safeguarding, and health & safety policies.
  • Participate in training and professional development initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification (NMBI registration required).
  • Experience working in disability or community services desirable.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Knowledge of HSE policies and HIQA standards is an advantage.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

  • Grade: Staff Nurse – General (Code 2135)
  • Pay Scale: HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025) — €37,129 to €54,403 per annum.
  • Contract: Permanent Wholetime (75 hours per fortnight)
