The Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Paediatric Cardiology) to join its dedicated team in Limerick. This permanent, whole-time role offers an opportunity to advance your nursing career within a highly specialised paediatric cardiology service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced, evidence-based nursing care in paediatric cardiology.
- Provide expert clinical assessment and develop care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Educate and support patients, families, and staff on paediatric cardiac conditions and interventions.
- Participate in research, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service development.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, policies, and clinical governance requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered Children’s Nurse (RCN) or Registered General Nurse (RGN) with significant paediatric experience.
- Postgraduate qualification in paediatric cardiology or related field (desirable).
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-registration experience, including 2 years in paediatric cardiology or acute paediatric setting.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teaching skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Clinical Nurse Specialist (Children’s) – Code 2626
- Salary Scale (as of 1 August 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (11-point scale including LSI)
