The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting Social Care Workers for its Intellectual Disability Services across Dublin South and Wicklow. These are permanent, full-time positions within the HSE Disability Residential Service (IHA DSW), offering a rewarding opportunity to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in community-based settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Assist residents in daily living activities, promoting independence and inclusion.
- Implement individual care plans and participate in multidisciplinary team reviews.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of service user progress.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, health and safety standards, and HIQA regulations.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Social Care Work or a related discipline (Level 7 or higher on the NFQ).
- Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of person-centred and rights-based care approaches.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland and full compliance with HSE recruitment requirements.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Social Care Worker (Grade Code 3029).
- Salary Scale (effective 1 August 2025): Approx. €38,000 – €55,000 per annum (as per HSE consolidated pay scales).
- Contract Type: Permanent, Wholetime.
- Working Hours: 39 hours per week (rostered, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays).
