Health and Social Care Assistant – HSE – Roscommon & Galway

The Health Service Executive (HSE) West and North West is recruiting permanent Health and Social Care Assistants (Therapy Assistants) to support the Children’s Disability Network Team in Roscommon and Galway. This is a key frontline role providing support to children with disabilities across clinical, home, community, and educational settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support therapists and clinicians in delivering child-centred disability services.
  • Assist with therapy sessions, equipment setup, and documentation.
  • Provide direct support to children and families in the home, community, or school.
  • Maintain accurate client records in accordance with HSE policies.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Contribute to the promotion of independence and inclusion for children with disabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in health, social care, or related field.
  • Experience in healthcare, community, or disability settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to HSE values and child protection policies.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

  • Grade: Health & Social Care Assistant (Therapy Assistant) 6019
  • Contract: Permanent, Part-time
  • Salary Scale (from 1 August 2025): €34,061 – €46,300 per annum (HSE consolidated pay scales)
