Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist obstetric and gynaecological care to patients within University Hospital Limerick.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and on-call rotations.
- Contribute to the education and supervision of junior medical staff and students.
- Support service development initiatives aligned with HSE Mid West’s child and maternal health strategy.
- Maintain compliance with Medical Council standards and HSE clinical governance requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- Proven experience in clinical leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (Code 1139)
- Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025) — consultant pay bands typically range €217,000–€266,000 per annum depending on seniority and contract type (see Department of Health Circular 6/2025).
- Contract: Fixed Term, Whole-time.
- Hours: Standard consultant working week as per HSE policy.
