Cork University Hospital (CUH) is inviting applications for a Permanent Wholetime Occupational Therapy Assistant (Grade 6505). This position supports the hospital’s Occupational Therapy Department in delivering high-quality patient care across a variety of clinical settings. Open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, this role offers the opportunity to contribute within Ireland’s largest university teaching hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Support qualified Occupational Therapists in patient rehabilitation and daily functional activities.
- Assist with treatment setup, mobility exercises, and adaptive equipment provision.
- Maintain clinical records and assist in patient progress documentation.
- Ensure infection control and patient safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- QQI Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in Healthcare Support or a related field.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or therapy assistant setting is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous learning and patient-centred care.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Occupational Therapy Assistant (Code 6505)
- Salary Scale: In line with HSE consolidated pay scales effective 1 August 2025 (as per Department of Health Circular 6/2025).
- Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime
- Working Hours: 37 hours per week (approximate)
