The HSE Dublin and Midlands Health Region is inviting applications for a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist (Ref: PSYC4563) based in Mental Health Services, Dublin South Central. This is a permanent, full-time (37 hours per week) position open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to adult patients.
- Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary mental health teams across community and inpatient settings.
- Ensure adherence to HSE mental health service standards and best clinical practices.
- Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in on-call and rostered consultant duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council (Psychiatry).
- Proven experience in adult mental health psychiatry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Commitment to patient-centred, recovery-oriented care.
- Familiarity with HSE structures, policies, and service delivery models.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist (Code 143Y)
- Hours: 37 per week
- Contract: Permanent Wholetime
- Salary: As per HSE Consolidated Consultant Pay Scales (effective 1 August 2025), ranging approximately €173,597 – €208,317 per annum, subject to experience and Department of Health circulars.
