Muiriosa Foundation is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse (Intellectual Disability) to join its Adult Residential Services across Longford, Meath, and Westmeath. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified or newly registered RNIDs to make a real impact supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in a caring, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred nursing care to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote inclusion and positive risk management.
- Maintain accurate, electronic care documentation and clinical reports.
- Support individuals in community integration and daily living activities.
- Mentor and supervise healthcare support staff where appropriate.
- Adhere to HIQA standards and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults guidelines.
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet service needs, including rostered shifts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered (or awaiting registration) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) – RNID division.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of HIQA standards and safeguarding protocols.
- IT proficiency and ability to manage digital reporting systems.
- Full clean Irish manual driving licence.
- Experience working independently with vulnerable adults preferred.
- Empathetic, flexible, and committed to high-quality person-centred care.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Staff Nurse – Intellectual Disability (Code 213T)
- Pay Scale (as per HSE Consolidated Salary Scales, 1 August 2025):
€37,526 – €55,054 per annum (based on experience and incremental credit) - Contract Type: If and When (relief basis)
