The Muiriosa Foundation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse (Intellectual Disability) to join our Adult Residential Services in Longford and Westmeath. Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Support and promote inclusion, independence, and positive risk management.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
• Maintain accurate electronic care records and prepare computerised reports.
• Implement safeguarding practices and uphold HIQA standards.
• Demonstrate leadership, supervision, and mentoring within the care team.
• Contribute to continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered or awaiting registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (RNID).
• Previous experience in the disability sector is desirable.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Strong IT and report-writing abilities.
• Understanding of HIQA standards and safeguarding protocols.
• Full clean manual driving licence (Ireland).
• Flexible approach to rostered hours.
• Empathetic, respectful, and motivated attitude to care delivery.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary aligned with HSE Staff Nurse – Intellectual Disability Scale (effective 1 August 2025: €37,901 – €55,742 per annum, DOE, as per DoH Circular 6/2025).
