Wexford General Hospital, part of the HSE Dublin and South East region, is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse/Midwife to join the Special Care Baby Unit. This permanent, wholetime role offers an opportunity to deliver exceptional neonatal care in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. Applicants from both HSE and non-HSE backgrounds are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing and midwifery care to neonates in the Special Care Baby Unit.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Maintain accurate records in line with HSE standards and clinical governance requirements.
• Support parents and families, offering education and emotional support throughout the care process.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and compliance with HSE clinical policies.
• Participate in professional development and continuing education.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Midwife with An Bord Altranais (NMBI).
• Experience in neonatal, maternity, or paediatric care is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to person-centred care and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
The salary scale for Staff Nurse (Grade Code 2135) as of 1 August 2025 is:
€37,288 – €55,477 per annum (including Long Service Increment).
This is a permanent, full-time HSE position with access to pension, annual leave entitlements, and other public sector benefits.
