Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Physiologist (Basic Grade) to join the team in Dublin South. This permanent, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for healthcare professionals to contribute to paediatric respiratory diagnostics and care within Ireland’s leading children’s hospital network. Open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, this role is advertised under Section 38 arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform and interpret respiratory function tests on paediatric patients.
• Maintain and calibrate respiratory diagnostic equipment in line with departmental and safety standards.
• Support senior physiologists and medical staff in delivering comprehensive respiratory services.
• Ensure accurate data collection, patient record management, and reporting.
• Participate in service development, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide guidance and education to students or new staff as required.
• Adhere to CHI and HSE health and safety protocols at all times.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in Clinical Measurement Science or Respiratory Physiology.
• Experience working in a healthcare or diagnostic setting, preferably paediatrics.
• Knowledge of respiratory physiology, lung function testing, and related technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy for paediatric patients and families.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Strong organisational and analytical abilities.

• Grade: Respiratory Physiologist 3016 (Health & Social Care Professional scale).
• Salary: As per HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025, Department of Health Circular 6/2025).
