The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist (Reference: PSYC4262) to join the Mental Health Services Dublin South Central team. This is a permanent, full-time role offering 37 hours per week within the HSE Dublin and Midlands health region. The position provides a unique opportunity to lead and deliver specialist mental health care to adults in a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical leadership in adult psychiatry within the Dublin South Central Mental Health Service.
• Deliver comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Supervise and support multidisciplinary mental health teams.
• Engage in teaching, training, and supervision of NCHDs and allied staff.
• Participate in service planning, development, and audit activities.
• Liaise with primary care, community mental health teams, and hospital services to ensure integrated care delivery.
• Fulfil on-call and rostered duties as required by the HSE Consultant Contract.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council in Psychiatry (General Adult).
• Significant post-qualification experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist or equivalent senior level.
• Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary team leadership and service development.
• Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and organisational skills.
• Commitment to continued professional development and evidence-based practice.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary in accordance with the HSE Consultant salary scale effective from 1 August 2025.
(Consultant 143Y Grade – €234,000 to €282,000 per annum, depending on point of scale and experience, as per HSE Circular 6/2025).
