The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a highly experienced Consultant Neurologist to join its Dublin and Midlands region. This permanent wholetime post is split between Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise (24 hours per week) and Tallaght University Hospital (13 hours per week). This senior clinical role offers the opportunity to lead neurology services across two major hospital sites while contributing to high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide consultant-led neurology services across assigned hospitals
• Deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical governance activities
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
• Engage in teaching, supervision, and mentoring of clinical staff
• Participate in the on-call rota as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Full registration (or eligibility) with the IMC Specialist Division – Neurology
• Proven clinical expertise in neurology at consultant level
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Commitment to excellence in patient care and service improvement
• Experience working within acute hospital settings
• Eligibility to work in Ireland at consultant grade
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Consultant Neurologist salary scale as per HSE consolidated pay scales
• Permanent wholetime contract (37 hours per week) divided across two hospital sites
