The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a highly experienced Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine to join the team at University Hospital Limerick. This fixed-term, wholetime role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality geriatric and general internal medicine services within the HSE Mid West region.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive geriatric medicine services, including assessment, diagnosis and management of complex medical needs.
• Deliver high-quality clinical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical governance and service development.
• Contribute to teaching, training and supervision of junior medical staff.
• Participate in the on-call rota as required.
• Support service delivery in line with HSE policies, standards and strategic objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in geriatric medicine and general (internal) medicine.
• Extensive clinical experience in geriatric and internal medicine.
• Strong communication, leadership and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to high standards of patient care and clinical governance.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• This is a fixed term, wholetime contract governed by HSE salary scales for Consultant grade 1074.

• Working hours in line with Consultant contract terms, including participation in on-call responsibilities.
