The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a dedicated Senior Physiotherapist specialising in Obstetric and Women’s Health to join the team at Portiuncula University Hospital, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. This is a permanent, wholetime role under the HSE West and North West Health Region. The post offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care in ante-natal, post-natal, and women’s health services.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialised physiotherapy assessment and treatment for ante-natal, post-natal, and women’s health conditions.
• Manage a caseload independently and provide clinical supervision to junior physiotherapy staff and students.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings to support holistic patient care.
• Participate in the development and implementation of evidence-based physiotherapy practices.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with HSE standards and data protection guidelines.
• Engage in continuous professional development and service quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• CORU registration as a Physiotherapist.
• Proven depth and breadth of experience in women’s health physiotherapy, including ante-natal and post-natal care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centred care and professional development.
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Physiotherapist – Senior (Grade Code 3158).
• Salary Scale (effective 1 August 2025, per Department of Health Circular 6/2025): approximately €63,000–€74,000 per annum, based on experience and incremental progression.
